I awoke once we got to the farm. My two cousins Dallas and Devon lived with Grandma . The three of us always had a great time playing together. Grandma Lois had recently bought a Nintendo. I was looking forward to finally being able to play Super Mario Brother with Dallas. She loved the game as much as I did. Devon would watch us play and make fun of us when we would die.
The first night at the farm the two of us played for hours. We only took breaks long enough to use the bathroom and to sneak out into the dining room when Grandma wasn’t looking to raid her chocolate stash. She kept them hidden in the bottom of the china cabinet. She thought we did not know where she hid the goodies, but we did. Dallas and I always argued over who got to be Mario and who had to be Luigi. We both hated being Luigi!
After we had been playing for about five hours I got tired of Dallas not letting me be Mario. When I asked her if I could finally take a turn being Mario she said no! That made me very angry. Before I knew it I was sitting on top of her with my hands around her neck choking her until she agreed to let me have a turn. Once I let her go she went running directly to Grandma to tattle tale on me for hurting her. Before she could even get the words out of her mouth I ran downstairs to the bedroom in the basement to hide. There was no way I was admitting what I had done. I could hear Grandma calling out to me but I did not answer until she said that if I did not come talk to her she would call my Mother. I did not want her to call her. I knew if she did then I would probably have to go home and I did not want that.
I slowly made my way up the stairs to face the music. Once I made it into the living room I immediately said that Dallas was lying and that I did not touch her. Unfortunately, I was busted because I had left my hand prints on her neck. I even tried to say that she did it to herself but her hands were too small to have left the marks. There was no way out of it so I admitted that I did it. I felt really bad for hurting her but she made me so angry in the moment.
Grandma grounded the two of us off of the Nintendo for the remainder of the time I was there. Devon was happy to hear that we could not play. Now he was able to have the games all to himself which he rather enjoyed.
The next few days at the farm went by quickly and soon I was back at home again with Jack. The mood between Jack and my Mother seemed to be better than it was before I left. I was hoping that now that they were getting along better that he would leave me alone for a while. But that was not the case. On the night I came home after my Mother was asleep, he once again came into my room and woke me up.
