A Moment with the Author….. (10/73)

Hello  My Readers….

I wanted to take a moment to stop and give myself a chance to think……… I guess you could say I am having a bit of a moment. To be expected I guess, I am revealing every gory horrid detail of my childhood on the internet. I have begun asking myself what my true purpose is in telling my story and why I have always felt that something bigger was guiding me. Even at the darkest of times. Even in that very moment that it all started, I knew I was not alone and that all I needed to do was endure for a greater purpose. Sound crazy… I agree, but it was what kept me going then and now.

In today’s society care for children whom have been sexual abused is very scarce but there are Angels out there trying to help. There is a woman who has dedicated her life to helping children who were sexual abused. That woman is Gloria Meldrum, the founder of Little Warriors. A woman whos work has inspired me to continue on with mine.

What is Little Warriors do you ask ……… They are an organization of Angels. They are a national organization that provides awareness and prevention education workshops all across the province. They also provide healing resources such as their long term care treatment facility for children and their families whose lives have been devastated by the effects of childhood sexual abuse. The Be Brave Ranch. The Be Brave Ranch by Ray LaBonte and Family is a long term treatment center. The first of its kind.

 

Would you believe this type of amazing organization does not receive ANY funding from the government. Before you think to yourself hey there are funding deficiencies everywhere I want you to remember these numbers!

 

Scary thought isn’t it…. That the occurrence of sexual abuse is that high. I believe that it is extremely wrong that the government does not help fund the Be Brave Ranch. It is so wrong on so many levels. They only exist because of the donations and fundraising.
